Charlotte FC will host the Scotland national team as a FIFA World Cup base camp training site. The team's 52,000-square-foot facility will serve as the Scottish FA's official training site and team headquarters ahead of matches against Haiti, Morocco, and Brazil. Tepper Sports & Entertainment CEO Kristi Coleman expressed excitement about welcoming Scotland, one of the world's most historic footballing associations, to Charlotte for the FIFA World Cup. This summer marks the biggest sporting event North America has seen this century, and Charlotte FC is honored to be named a team base camp for a major European nation. The facility, which opened in 2023, features eight soccer fields, a cafeteria for players, and a weight room. This will be the second consecutive summer that Charlotte FC's facilities will be utilized by a team competing in a globalized FIFA competition. The club's stadium hosted four FIFA Club World Cup 2025 matches, delivering the second-highest attended group stage game of the tournament with 70,248 fans in Uptown to see Real Madrid vs Pachuca. And the city will not host any matches for this summer's World Cup but will be the site where the United States Men's National Team plays its penultimate friendly ahead of the tournament against African champions Senegal on Sunday, May 31. The match is expected to draw a large crowd, similar to the one that gathered for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. So the city is gearing up for another exciting summer of soccer. But for now, the focus is on preparing for the Scotland national team's arrival. The team's training facility is ready, and the staff is eager to collaborate with the Scottish FA and FIFA to deliver a world-class experience for their staff, players, and fans. Charlotte FC's training facility has become a premier destination for top teams, and this partnership with the Scotland national team will only strengthen its reputation.
